The colour changing lip oils provide lips with a shot of hydration and shine, and leave a gorgeous tint. The collection will feature four shades (L-R) - Pale Princess (yellow to pink), Doll to Diva (hot pink), Candy Drop (grape), and La La Love you (Magenta). I purchased Doll-to-Diva from The Company Store which is a bright diaphanous fuchsia shade in the tube. The applicator is wider and more curved than a standard doe-foot, and hugs lip curves better, allowing for better control of application. When applied, it goes on sheer and shiny on lips. After a few minutes the colour begins to develop and tint lips, leaving a flattering and glossy hue behind. Note, in the picture I've only applied 1 layer for a natural flush of colour. Despite re-application throughout the day, this product didn't leave my lips flaky and the colour continued to develop more intensity (similar to the colour in the tube), which was naturally complimentary to my NC40 complexion. Above, after a single coat, and after three re-applications(below). From my previous experience with YSL's Volupte Tint-in-Oil, M.A.C's version wears a little longer due to the slightly thicker consistency, and has a more pleasant taste (M.A.C's signature vanilla flavor) that is not overpowering or offensive. Compared to K-beauty versions of this product, I loved that M.A.C's version wasn't drying or difficult to remove at the end of the day. The customize able colour is also a big plus as you can wear it subtle for work, or bolder for evening.
M.A.C's lip oil is the bomb and lives up to what fellow bloggers and 'grammers have waxed lyrical. Definite stash must have for hydrating colour and lush looking lips! |
