One of the the benefits of regular exfoliation is boosting circulation, facilitating the elimination of impurities that may be trapped in the skin. From a look perspective, exfoliation leaves skin luminous, smooth and soft in texture, and removes excess dead skin that cause skin to look dull and lack lustre, according to skin expert, Ole Henriksen.
As the season hots up, it's more important to exfoliate regularly to help boost your sunscreen's effects as healthy skin has been shown to improve SPF effectiveness.
Ole Henriksen shares his DIY recipe for at-home dermabrasion resurfacing treatment called a "Shower Smoothie."
The Epsom salts in the Smoothie contain magnesium and sulfate which are readily absorbed through the skin. Both minerals work to reduce inflammation and flush impurities. As a concoction with coffee grounds, eucalyptus oil, and sesame oil, the scrub helps promote smooth, soft and rejuvenated skin.
Wet skin in the shower then turn off water. Use the palms of each hand to vigorously scrub your body for several minutes from next to feet. Rinse and indulge in the uplifting fresh feel of smooth and reinvigorated skin.
Use as a weekly body treatment for silky touchable skin!
