One of the must have products in my gym beauty bag is Dry Shampoo. The answer to clean hair in a pinch. This miracle hair product does amazing things for dirty, clean and in between hair.
As a long time devotee of Batiste Dry Shampoo Fresh, I recently discovered the new Strength and Shine formula with L-Arginine ($9), an amino acid known to promote healthy hair growth and stronger fibres. A definite plus considering the hair breakage that can be caused by silicone backed hair bands and hair elastics during physical activities.
The dry shampoo feels weightless and subtly enhances my skin's naturally poker straight texture without feeling gritty or matte. The shine and smooth effect is a lot more than I expected from a dry shampoo, and not a preference as I like my hair more textured, matte and messy.
From a formula perspective, fine, curly or more textured hair types may prefer Batiste Strength and Shine to the original formula as it isn't as mattifying, and leaves hair softer. Straight haired types might like this for shine enhancement and it's less extreme texturizing properties.
Using the product is a cinch - simply spritz, leave for a minute, rough up or brush and style hair. Unlike the original Batiste formula, Strength and Shine is easier to brush out (I have black hair) and leaves strands feeling soft, smooth and clean without any residue, stickiness or crunchiness.
In terms of sopping up oil and maintaining fresh hair between washes, this held up the 'clean feeling' of my poker straight strands for up to 4 days between washes. Using repeatedly didn't appear to cause my scalp any issues or icky build up.
Aside from allowing me to skip washing my hair post-express workout, I also use Strength and Shine post-blow dry for smoothness and shine, and to replenish heat treated strands.
Batiste Strength and Shine is perfect for refreshing hair post-workout in a pinch because it quickly refreshes hair and doubles up as a blow dry finisher in a pinch.
