A culprit for limp strands post-workout is sweat and moisture at the hairline. Prepping is the key to preventing frizzies and slicked up strands.
Nix the moisture overload by blotting hairline with a clean paper towel and a light spritz of dry shampoo. Batiste Fresh is lightweight and in a pinch works to mattify your forehead and helps your headband grip. Pop a headband to keep hair off the face. I like Scunci's no-slip grip thick band headband as it keeps all my hair off my face and the silicon backing ensures it stays put especially during tough kickboxing and jammin zumba sessions. Better still, the band washes well and keeps its elasticity. Another band I love is the Criss Cross headband from Lululemon which is suited for lighter workouts, such as pilates, barre, ballet beautiful and yoga. Apres exercise, Criss Cross finishes a bun gorgeously. |
To tame fly aways and cow licks, bobby pins are a must! These unsung heros are a lifesaver when you're caught without hair ties or to keep your bra straps in situ..
Last but not least, the other handy tools to keep on hand are ribbon hair ties. My fab beauty blogger mate, Jen from Beauty All That made these cute ties that I keep in every gym bag. These ribbon ties are great for preventing hair kinks, sometimes caused by traditional hair elastics, and preserving a blow dry..
